thing #23

This is a nice way to end the 23 Things, by summing up my thoughts. Well, it was a lot of fun at times and it was a little tedious at others. All in all I enjoyed it. It was interesting helping my coworkers to complete the exercises when they needed me, and them helping me in return when I needed them. In the end we can all feel like we accomplished something and learned something as well.

Thing #22

I revisted MOLDI today. I had previously looked at the site when the library first introduced it on the CML website. It is pretty simple to use... just download, install and register free software for your device, then checkout and enjoy. It has good search options... topic, most popular, specific title, etc. It has a fairly wide variety to choose from too!

Thing #20

I have used Youtube in the past and like being able to find and watch things I may have missed or that friends recommend. For this exercise I watched some Counting Crows videos, yet I could not use them on my blog because embedding was disabled on all of them.

thing #21

Searching the catagories on and turned up some interesting sounding podcasts. One in particular sparked my curiousity called "Team Leader: a dark office comedy". I also saw a few under the politics catagory.
I did notice a lot of libraries that podcast on a regular basis, such as the Salt Lake County Library and the Lansing Public Library.

thing #18

This was a fun exercise. I used the awards catagories to explore different winning sites. I liked the sound of the catagory "Fun Stuff", and I found the site listed there. This site is a good one, ranging from one liner jokes to tragic tales to food for thought... all expressed in one sentence. I was happy to see that CitySearch got 3rd place. I use that site when planning to travel to a new city.

thing #16

I didn't really enjoy doing this exercise, it wasn't entertaining or interesting.

Thing #17

In my day to day work, Google Docs could help me by allowing me to edit with other people in real time. It could cut travel time and gas expense for me by allowing me to present and work with people at a distance. Since it is stored online, local hard drive failures won't impact my work. Plus... free is always good!

Thing #19

The "Tooling Around" blog is great! It shows and explains to readers how they can use various "tools" to make their online experience easier and more interesting. I also points out ways that each can be used to have greater access to the library.
I think having an "I Love the Library" badge is a neat idea!
